Stamped concrete release residue??

Question:Stamped concrete release residue??
I recently had a stamped concrete patio created in my yard and two weeks later I am still having a ton of release color on my feet when I walk across it. I have hosed it off every day. The release color is almost black and it causing huge problems w/ visitors and children not wiping their feet prior to entering my home. My floors are becoming trashed daily which is causing alot of work on my end!! What is the cause of this and what can I do? Of course I can not get a hold of my contractor.

Answers:
Stamped concrete needs to sit for a few days, then pressure washed carefully and finally, probably the step missing from yours, SEALED.
The sealer will give an shiny finish and stop the release.
The quality of the sealer is important to the overall quality of the installation.

The color is actually powdered graphite and your contractor obviously forgot to seal the patio once it had cured enough to do so. Go to your local DIY store and get some concrete sealer. You can apply it with either a paint roller or a pump up garden type sprayer thoroughly cleaned before and after. Be sure to measure your patio before so that you can follow the coverage suggestions and to be sure that you get enough to do the job. I am wondering if the surface has not smeared to the point of making it darker than you desired. If so a power washer may help and be sure that the surface is dry before applying the sealer. I hope this helps
