How can i get the grass in my garden nice and thick,ive tried spiking it seeding it well,cutting it regular.?

Answer number one certainly has a valid suggestion. I'll add regular but not over the top watering. You don't state where you are, or the type of grass, the soil type, etc.; which would have been something to add in the details.
You can also thatch the lawn/grass areas to remove anything that inhibits growth. Keep the lawn as weed free as possible since many weeds not only "Creep" and take over most grasses, but are also, most often, more deeply and wide spread, rooted, and absorb more of the water than the grass ever gets.
Keeping a decent lawn is as much an issue as keeping a decent house; it takes a commitment to maintenance.
Try feeding it with lawn food -

water it well...put your cutter higher so as not to cut the grass to low..dont cut as often..sprinkle a little sand over it and lawn feed..stand back and wait...oh not until it gets thick you will be there for a long time other wise lol

get some nitrachalk fertiliser from the garden centre. It is a straight nitrogen fertiliser and will green the grass and make it grow very rapidly.this is the chemical that will do what you require.apply as ditrected on the carton and then water well.
Try a supplementary plant food such as Fisons Weed and Feed which will feed the grass and kill the weeds.
