Not sure on the rental cost of a chainsaw... Most cost about $100 and up new out of the box. The wood chipper was around $150 for half a day from Home Depot. The key thing though is that YOU HAVE to have a truck to tow the chipper... they also rent pickup trucks, but you might do better pricewise at a local Rental location.
Don't forget to include the refundable deposit, also I rented these items a few years ago, so the rental rate has changed. The fee will also vary by the market area.
