What is that stuff?
Question:You know, the green paste on the infomercials that safely removes layers of paint or varnish. What is it called?
Answers:
There are a couple so I attached two links below. I've never tried them, good luck!
The "stuff" I've used for years on the job is a snotty pasty "stuff" that's called "ZIP" paint remover, it also removes your skin, anything it comes into contact with, it will dissolve it. So, be very careful when using it, get a package of rubber gloves and have water nearby for splashing, I mean it, you'll see.
Buy it at Home Depot or Ace hardware.
Wear safety glasses Keep the kids away. Put it on, leave it on for several moments, you'll be able to judge, then scrape it off with a dull blade, like the back side of an old planer blade. Then wipe it with steel wool, check it out, maybe do it again or sand it down now.
Be very careful that you do not get it on something you don't want to refinish, this stuff does not forgive, once it hits paint, it's like magic, the paint is history.
