How can you raise height of exisiting vanities?
Question:We bought a home, and the bathroom vanities are really low for us. Is there any way of raising them without replacing them?
They are standard vanities, and are attached to the wall/floor, I think.
Answers:
Well one easy way would be to take out the vanities and frame up a deck (2x6 and then 5/8" inch plywood) the height of which you want the vanities raised. Then you can tile the deck (to match your bathroom tile) set the vanities back on top. The major advantage to this is it is not that intrusive and it will look like it was done from the start and not a cheap fix.
sure just more pipe, more for the waste, and extra pipe to supply the water .hot /cold pipes cost about $25 for a ten foot section, and you will need 24ins hot /cold supply lines
try lowes.
I believe you want to go from the 32in height to the 36 height that is more common now... You would have to remove the tops and the cabinets and then build a lower platform to match the cabinet underneath ... it gives you a really high toe kick area but it saves you from buying new cabinets...
and there you have it great answers together
Most likely they are attached to the wall. Under the cabinet there will be a board going horizonal. This is called a standard.Screws or nails should be seen in it.pull them or cut or punch them thru.Take any pluming apart w/drains.Turn water off first.Cut loose any chalking or grout.Build your toe kick to desired height.Usualy with 3/4" material such as exterior plywood or CVG. Clear Vertical Grain wood.
