How do I install a decomposed granite patio?
Question:What is the appropriate depth of the decomposed granite and do I need to use base rock? Should I use a stablizer or mix it with Concerete? Ideally I would like the patio to be solid and have concrete like feel. My main concern is that drainage will be an issue.

Well,, My husband and i actually own a landscape contracters buisness and yes you need a 6" base of stone dust underneeth a patio or walk way and it also needs to be compacted,, the best thing also to use is a brick paver it is best in winter and sommer because it will not crack or decompose in the winter it moves with the ground and comes back in to shape after the thaw.. also drainage is better if you start with a 6 " base and you could also pitch around your patio to help the water not to puddle.. you can go on line and look up Techo blocks..have a good one and good luck
first lay down a landscape fabric over compacted subsoil,
( use a vibrating plate compactor)then lay down level course of d/g, wet thouroughly and compact , add as necessary to get final grade and wet and recompact d/g . should come out fairly hard but it will scuff out if surface is scraped
