Non-toxic ideas to get rid of sidewalk weeds?

Question:I tried rock salt, it was okay. Is there something that is better? Non-toxic is the important part.

Answers:
try vinegar straight, no dilution.

Try vinegar. It works similarly to "Roundup", but is non-toxic, and a lot cheaper.
boiling water works.
You are gonna have to get down on your hands and knees and start pullin. And use a butter knife to get down in the cracks with.I was in the Army for a few years and they used that as a form of punnishment.Lets just say our sidewalks allways looked really good.
Pull them up by hand...it's not that hard.
buy a torch. the kind used for plumbing ($20). light it and apply the flame to the weeds. guarantied results and no sticky residue.
If you don't want to just put on a pair of gloves and sit there to pull them you could try a propane torch. No toxic residue.
