What can help stop the green in the pool?

Question:besides the basics pool guy comes once a week he says it is the pump however that is costly any ideas ??

Answers:
Its very simple - http://appliancequickfix.com/ has a great page on pool water and when you fix the problem, get yourself a new pool guy.

Chlorine.
Have you used algecide regularly? Did you shock the water? Did you clean the filter/change the earth/sand and the fingers (if your model has them).

If you've done all that, and the problem is the pump is not moving enough water fast enough, your pool man is probably correct.
well either it IS the pump or your ph is off. Sounds more like algae
Do you have a pool store in your area that you could take a water sample to them and they test the water to see what you need to correct the chemicals in the water. We do this, costs $10 but well worth it, if I can't seem to get it correct on my own. Sounds like a type of algae.
