What is the min hight of the cooker hood from the hob?

Question:I'm fitting my kitchen ,but the guide book iam using was published in 2004. on the book it says that the min hight for the hood is 600mm. And for the wall units on either side of the hood to be at least 460mm. Are these still the correct ones or have they changed them? Thank you

Answers:
clearance for the extractor above the hob should be 600mm, the inner side of the wall units should be 460mm min, makes no difference if the hob is gas or electric, and just a word of advice, if u will be puttin a pelmet around the bottom of the wall units make sure they are as high away from the hob as possible because the heat from the hob will make any joints in the pelmet open up also if the pelmet is a laminated type the laminate will become detatched with the heat

are you talking about building codes? what is a hob??

if you are indeed talking about building codes, hen you need to check with your local building and planning department, as every city has a different set of codes.
Depends if it is gas or electric but the definitive answerer will be in the hood manufactures installation instructions. Make sure the extractor has the CE mark then go by their book.
