How can I rig a furnace thermostat in my bedroom that shuts off a blower after the room cools down?
Question:I have installed a separate blower in the second storey of our house, but unfortunately it works so well it gets to cold at night.
I have an extra thermostat, I guess I now need a 25v transformer or whatever else to make this happen. Any suggestions?

It might be easier to install an X-10 programmable socket that turns the fan on and off at certain times. The program can be changed from remote locations and the fan can be shut off at any time by just pushing a button on the X-10's remote and turning off just that socket.
This way, no complicated wiring or fishing new wires through the walls is necessary.
Find them at Fry's Electronics or on X-10's web site.
if you have central air there are thermostats that you can put the fan on manually, they usually have four wires dependin if you use the thaermostat for heating than there are six wires, there is usually a jumper involved also,
This is not an easy one to answer, as it depends on the capability of your furnace to handle multiple thermostats. Some are, but it will still be hard to handle one thermostat that is calling for fan operation and another that is temperature satisfied not calling for it. It might be easier to get a programmable thermostat that replaces the one you have now and program it to shut off the fan at a certain time.
