My bed room is hot, help~!?
Question:My house is facing E-W and getting direct sun all day here in Florida. I just finished siding last Sumer by using a insulation with tight dead air space, my bed room window facing the East has blind shut all day to block the sun, however, my bed room gets hotter than the rest of the room, plus entire indoor house is hotter than even out side especially in the evening. Why is this, and what can I do ? (do not wish to spend money too much since I just finish putting $30K into this home.

Window tint is an option. Or if you could spend some money Insulated windows with Low E coating and argon gas between the panes will make a big difference. Also a well vented attic with good insulation can make a big difference too. Another way to block the sun from your windows is to install window awnings on the outside. You can also make sure all your doors and windows seal up good soa s to not let your coo air from the AC escape or let hot air in.
Get some air conditioners!
get some A/C lol
You're house is like a big microwave oven. You need to put an air conditioning unit in.if not the whole house, at least your bedroom. I had a similar problem due to my upstairs bedrooms not being insulated properly. We had whole house air but it wouldn't cool down those rooms. Ceiling fans and two more window air conditioning units did the trick.
It's possible that your house is just too insulated... And there may not be enough air circulation.
Consider installing a ceiling fan and using a black out shade in the bedroom. This will cool your room down.
What color is the room? If it's a warm color (red, orange, yellow, etc.) your room will always feel warmer, especially since it gets the sun all day. Consider painting the room a soft cool light blue. Believe it or not, this WILL cool down the room.
Good luck.
I suggest tinting your windows. That helped my room a lot when I lived in florida.
I know exactly where your coming from I moved to Florida from the Caribbean. I' ve got a few ideas for you. You could get air conditioning but if your house is big it'll take a while to cool down your house. You could also get a few small fans, box fans, or ceiling fans throughout your home. You may want to get screens in your windows b/c depending on what part of Fl. you live in you may be able to get a good breeze if you live near the ocean or some type of body of water. Good Luck 2 U!
I would invest in some air conditioners or at least one to keep the bedroom cool.
