How do I add Freon to a Trane CX1000?
Question:
Answers:
First, determine the type of freon required. It may take R-22 or R-410a. Each requires a different method of charging procedure (R-22 charge vapor, R-410a charge liquid). Second, using the pressure/temperature chart, determine outdoor ambient and indoor dry-bulb temperature. You also may need a thermometer to strap to the suction, or liquid-line if unit requires charging by sub cool or superheat method. Then charge according to chart !
Call a HVAC service company to do it. Adding gas to an AC system requires specialized equipment.
It is also illegal.
If you don't have an EPA Type II license, sorry---this isn't a DYI.
