What size skill saw do you need to go through a 4x4 or do they make such a thing?

Question:

Answers:
the cost of a circular saw with a blade large enough to cut through a 4 by for is steep. you would save several dollars if you just get yourself a 10" miter saw and use it to cut the 4 by 4. otherwise, just cut it with a 7-1/4" circular asw and roll the post over to finish the cut.

they do make an 8 and a quarter skill but all you need to do is roll the 4x4 to use a 7 and a quarter. just transfer your mark all the way around the bord.
You can go with the above answer, or you can buy a porta band saw. That would be great for your purpose.
a skil saw will work just fine, you will have to rotate the post however.. You could also try a hand saw., that's what I usually do.
You need a Big Foot saw:

They are not cheap, though. Expect to pay around $450.
Yes, 7 1/4" skill saw, You just have to cut through one half of the 4x4 then turn it over & cut through the other half.
I use my electric chain saw or my gas chain saw.
We used a reciprocating saw to cut ours.
Even after the post was set on some of them.
we prefer our chain saw or a sawz all
yeah they do but all you need to do is rotate the wood
We carry a ten inch skill saw at the Berkeley Tool Library...
yes I do have a skill brand circular saw with a 10" blade.
