What would be the best material to make a mic boom pole out of?
Question:Would it be better to use a wooden stick, plastic, hollow metal, etc.? It needs to be light weight but somewhat sturdy. I need it to hold 1/4lbs on one end while being held about 7-9 feet away from the other end.

electrical conduit, lightweight metal. aluminum if you can find it. some old tent poles is what i use to elevate my lantern .
A fiberglass pole would be good.
