Matching texture with patched spot on wall?
Question:I have textured walls and had to patch a hole in one. It's a good size patch. Is there an easy way to match the wall texture with the drywall patch?

lowes and lumber yards or hardware stores will have a can or aerosol spray on texture. it will come with three straws to blow on smaller or larger texture blobs. assuming you have a finish called knockdown, you can spray some texture on and "knock it down" with a large trowel, if you have a custom texture of some kind like it was done with swirls or an orange pattern or some such you will have to figure out how to duplicate your design. in the case you will buy a 5 or 10 pound bucket of pre-mixed mud and spread a layer on your repair and use whatever tool ( trowel, sponge, comb, washrag folded up tight and used to daub it etc.) after it dries stand back and be proud of yourself then paint to suit.
Depends on the Texture, Id try a paint store and ask for a can of ready mixed texture. Try a test spot on some wood, Using a damp rag press against texture lightly or heavy to get the right pattern...
I use the texture in a can myself. It works really well for most textured walls; new products are available for knock-downs and acoustic ceilings as well. Use lots of drop cloths as the stuff is messy.
Use the texture spray can. You can get them at Lowe's or Home depot. It looks like spray paint. It has 3 different types of spray 'hose' that you can use depending on what type of texture you have. Test spray it on a cardboard before spraying it on the exact area.
