Plans for making Baby changing unit?

Question:Hi,
I'm planning on making a basic baby changing unit, very basic, just 4 legs middle shelf and a top, but wondered if there was any websites with free plans for this sort of thing to get ideas in case I try to make it bigger and better lol.
Did a google search but can't find any sites, anyone help?

MDF without a laminate such as Formica would not be a good surface. I don't know or any plans for a changing table but you could use plans for practically any table, add a shelf and you are there.
I have a thought.

I'll assume you want some storage area, hence the table notion.

If that isn't strictly necessary why not make a fold down unit?

Certainly it can be substantial enough with framed 3/4 stock, and attached at a cleat horizontally spanning two studs, as well as attached by means of Blanket chest brace brackets or chain, to two upright supports attached to the two opposing studs. When down it works effectively, and when not in use can be folded nearly flat to the wall. You can still have a babies night table or plastic storage unit under it.

The suggestion from another answer is valid in that whatever material you use should probably have a laminate applied, like Formica,,,OR at a Home Imp. store, get a sheet of 1/8 plastic sheet, usually sold in white. As a changing table it should be slightly cushioned at the very least, and clean up friendly.

Take a good look at other changing tables and ask your wife if she has an idea of what she needs for extra storage space. Add another shelf for the baby power or diapers, nail clippers, combs, brushes etc. Add extra plastic quilted material on top, easy to wipe clean and looks good. Make sure it's a little wider, for more room. I find the change tables are to narrow. Or buy one, much cheaper.
Good Luck
