Answers:
Your freon is low, it must be a older unit. Defrost by turning off, however be aware it will happen again. If it's a window unit time for a new one. If it's central time to call serviceman.
umm.throw some hot water on it?
Dont know.I live in the south
your link doesnt work.

Our AC unit freezes up all the time at work... I think the only thing you can do is turn it off and wait for it to thaw.
I also encountered a problem when trying the link...
Regardless, you need to defrost the unit. Unplug it and let the ice melt on its own... that is the safest and most effective way to "unfreeze" an A/C unit. No risk of burning yourself with hot water or electrocution from pouring water onto it. Granted it takes time, but the reason your A/C has frozen is due to the relative outside humidity. It can be a fairly common and annoying problem... it might be a good idea to have someone come out to service it before we get further into the summer. Most newer A/C units have an automatic thaw feature that might be malfunctioning. Really wish I could have seen the pics, but hope this helps.
call a technician to add freon on your ac..
your freon pressure is low
Check the filter, then if that's not the problem, it will probably be the freon needs recharged
