I am making a custom shower how do i get a good angle on the floor for the water to drain?

Question:i know for standard sizes there is a styrofoam floor kit you can buy but my shower will be roughly the size of a tub (i dont think they make those floors that size) is the only way to do it is with cement if so how much run do i need (its in the basement so its already on concrete)

Being over concrete you'll want to use the showerpan liner and a drain with weepholes. You'll need a good straight edge or a level will do and a wood float.I always install my tile at level around the shower first using the level off the drain to determine the starting point.Place your starting point for tile with the level off level a fair amount. Now mix up three parts cement one part sand to a moist but not wet consistency it should clump in your hand when you squeeze but not let out moisture this is a drypack mix.pack mix into the floor area and slope from your level tile to the drain using your straight edge.Allow to dry overnight then install your shower floor.

Mark all the walls to be one inch above the top of the drain and pour the floor to the line and the drain. If it is a very small shower you may only want to use 3/4 inch.
We used the pebble flooring, and we laid thicker grout toward the edges and slowly sloped it with less and less grout until we got to the middle. The middle has very little grout. It looks great, and feels good on our feet.
We had a custom shower laid that is roughly the size of a tub as well, and it was a great decision. We love it.
Now we are looking at the custom doors. yuck.
AS A TILE SETTER I MAKE A BORDER AROUND MY PAN WITH SAND MIX.AT LEAST 2-4 INCHES,THEN USE YOUR DRAIN AS A FALL,,GET THE ADJUSTABLE DRAIN,MAKE A FALL FROM 1/8 OF INCH FALL. HEY DONT GET THAT KIT YOU WANT TO BUY, YOU WILL BE SORRY,,THEY LEEK TO MUCH..GET THE COMMERCIAL PVC LINER,AVAILABLE AT YOUR TILE STORE. GOOD LUCK
I would do it at no less than 1/8 inch per foot.
