Can I replace a Triton Bezique 9.5 kw shower with a Triton Caselona 8.5kw or Triton Zante 8.5kw?
Question:My shower has broken down - it's a Triton Bezique 9.5kw. The plumber who looked at it says it was because the shower is 9.5kw but the cable was only 6 kw.
I can't find another Triton Bezique anywhere but I've found 2 other models - Triton Caselona 8.5kw and Triton Zante 8.5kw. Are these showers interchangeable or will the pipework etc not match up?
Answers:
Firstly, i assume your cable size was 6mm, this can run a 9.5kw shower as long as the total cable run is less than 24 feet. If the shower is broken because the cable couldn't take the load, then the cable, and possibly the mains circuit breaker may well be damaged and not the shower. In this case replace the existing cable with 10mm2 twin and earth, which will take any shower size on the market.
Most showers are interchangeable, however a small alteration to the pipe work should be expected
Get a qualified electrician to carrty out the electrical work, not a plumber. If you get a red light on your pull cord or wall isolator switch then your circuit is still live and yor shower is at fault, but get a sparky to check the circuit first.

Will probably need re-piping. What is the cable size? Would that be 6 square millimeters?
I think the plumber is misleading you. Unless the wiring has melted somewhere? Do you recall having a fire recently?
I doubt *any* shower can be swapped and all the pipework match etc...
Contact Triton customer service, its my first port of call when someones Triton gives up the ghost. They will be able to tell you what your model will interchange with, as models do have different water and cable entry points.
Triton do a backing plate. This plate is pre-drilled so that you can chose where to drill the hole to fit the existing pipework. It fits all Triton showers.
