The pipe that goes to my ice maker in my fridge got twisted and sprung a leak. Is there any way I can patch ?
Question:Do I have to replace the pipe and what is the cheapest way to do this?

I believe that is in copper, so you can't patch, is better if you buy a joint, an union to make joint it back, but if you can change it for a plastic line it would be a lot better, the plastic lines are a way more resistant and flexible, perhaps the kit to do it your self maybe won't cost more than $13.00. The kit brings the flexible plastic line, a valve, which you won't need now and you can save as spare, and the nuts. Remember to place teflon tape in the threads before to plce the nuts.
they sell ice maker kit at stores like lowes and sears for about 20-25 dollars. you cannot really patch the pipe you need to replace it. It will only take about 15 minutes.
Duct Tape is for everything
If it's the copper connector pipe that goes with the unit you'll have to get the individual parts and replace them. If it's the plastic tubing, you can buy the kit at most hardware stores, very easy to replace.
go to home depot and get 1/4" tubing and some compession fitting and runn a new line
go to home depot or lowes, to the appliance section, and ask/ get a metal braided supply line for icemaker. follow copper line to valve, turn off valve, w/2 wrenchs ( 1 to turn nut & the other to keep what the nut is attached to from moving) remove old line, install new line being carefull not to over tighten nuts ( reason, metal braided lines incorporate a rubber washer that will leak if over ti ghtened, not all, look in end) turn water back on. If water off to icemaker for day or more, and ice doesn't resume making, lift limit wire in ice bin for 1 hour, then drop it down to reset
Yea what Trekkie7 said Three thumbs up on his answer.
You can't patch a leaking copper pipe effectively. Best to have someone cut out the break and splice in a new piece, either soldered, or using compression fittings.
I would suggest to call for an specialist in refrigeration, because the pipe I think is in aluminum, after repairing the pipe there is a vacuum pump to use to remove all air that entered the circuit, change the filter drier before do the gas charging(f134). Not easy man.
