Vegetable oil is the best
sounds crazy but olive oil. There are many types of vegatable and minreal oils. That will seal and protect the wood. multi coats needed
You have to watch using vegetable or olive oils as they will go rancid over time use something like a beeswax perservative. Maybe something like this http://www.hollandbowlmill.com/xcart/hom...
Hi, you need to use Mineral Oil. That's the one approved by the FDA. It's also called ,"Butcher Block Oil" . You used to be able to buy it any hardware store, but now its real hard to find. Try a restaurant supply. You'll find it there for sure. It seals any kitchen utensil made of wood. I use it on the stove, it makes it really beautiful! Bye
