How can I fix my sliding door?

Question:It closes all the way at the top, but not at the bottom. Its a wood door and the rollers are on the top.

Answers:
It sounds like the door is "racked". Take a good level and check the frame (NOT the door itself, but the outside frame). Is it plumb? If not, you have to adjust the door to suit the existing frame. There should be adjusting screws on the side of the door, near the top. These MAY be recessed, so inspect carefully. The adjusting screws either raise or lower the rollers. Try a turn at a time, then close the door and see if the situation is better or worse. If better, keep turning the screw one turn at a time until the entire door closes properly..if worse, turn the screw in the other direction. There may also be adjusting screws (possibly recessed) at the bottom of the door as well. It's not a bad idea to lubricate the adjusting screws with a shot of WD40 before attempting the adjustments.

There should be rollers on the bottom also with plugs that cover the screw holes for adjustment. Adjust the screws watching the reveal of the door, once its even then re insert the plugs
You might have to shim under the frame to square things up.
