How do I know if I have to mix gas with the oil that I add to my lawnmower? I don't have the owners manual.

Although most lawnmowers are 4 cycles, there are those that use 2 cycle engines like lawnboy for one.
If you have a seperate place to add oil on the mower then it is a 4 cycle and only needs gas.
If you can't find the place to add oil, then look around the gas tank and see if it tells you the ratio of oil to gas. Some mower engines vary on what they need. Some are either 4,6,8 ozs of oil per gallon of gas Good luck

if its two cycle,it needs oil, if its four cycle it dosent,it should say witch it is on the motor. my guess is it doesent need oil as they make very few two cycle engines for lawnmowers anymore
Usually push and riding mowers to do not need to have mixed gas and oil. One check to see if there is a separate place to put oil around the engine. Also you could call the manufacturer and tell them the model you have. They can answer your question and probably mail you or give you an email address to retrieve a new manual.
