I have been looking for plans to build a corner computer desk, any suggestions?
Question:My desk must include at least two file drawers. I would like to have a large desktop area. I would also like to have a large hutch area above. The whole desk is to be built in place preferably.

do u want to buy a desk and build it yourself or start from scratch on your own? i bought a corner desk with 2 side peices from officemax. it was 40 bucks to have them build it so i figured i would build it on my own. wow it was a lot of work. now that it is done, i love it. good luck if you are starting from scratch but u can find nice desks cheap at an office supply store.
I think you may want to go with a triangle theme.

I would get the design idea for your desktop area first. Use sturdy, cheep material. Pine 2x4s, plywood, sh*t loads of trim! The hutch could be made from a couple of small bookshelf units... remember... lots of trim!

Go to Woodworkers.com Then go to Wal-Mart. It'll save a lot of time and money to buy one already made. I have a wood working shop and sometimes it's cheaper in the long run to buy.
I did this same project in my old home. The basic idea was that I built 4 shelves, with the bottom one being the computer shelf. I went to Office Depot and bought two two-drawer file cabinets for the drawers.
The shelves were made from white ash 3/4" plywood, sanded, stained, and finished with polyurethane. A strip of 1x2 was attached the the underside edge of each shelf, and the edges routed to round them off.
In the computer shelf, I cut an access hole to accommodate wiring (this was also routed to round the edges). I attached a keyboard tray just as you would see on any computer desk (I scavenged the hardware from an old desk). I modified one of the 2-drawer cabinets to accommodate the computer tower.
Legs were made from 2x2 white ash, routed to round the edges. Depending on the look you want, the legs can be either perpendicular or angled from the outside corners to the baseboard. Angling them is a bit more tricky and requires a bit more math to get the angle correct.
The top three shelves were used for book shelves and storage. They were attached to the wall with decorative shelf brackets available at any hardware store. Be sure and attach a 1x2" strip to each wall, and at the height you want your shelves. These can be either soft white pine, or the same species as your plywood. These were also stained and finished, since they will be visible. Two small florescent light fixtures were on the underside of the second shelf (the one over the computer shelf).
Total materials used were 4 - 4x8 ft sheets x 3/4" white ash plywood, 6 shelf brackets, 2 - 2-drawer cabinets, 1x1 quart can stain, 1x1 quart can polyurathane, 2 florescent light fixtures, wood filler (to fill nail and screw holes - this should be done prior to staining and finishing).
It took about 20 hours to do the layout, cutting, and preliminary finish work. The actual installation took about two hours.
A key tip - the corner of your room MAY NOT BE a perfect 90 degree corner (I have yet to find a house where the corners are perfect). When you are planning your cuts, allow enough excess so you can scribe the shelves to fit the corner.
