How to build a house?
Question:
Answers:
Here's what I did. I got my design approved. Got a contractor to build a shell - just roof and some walls. Went to night school to learn plumbing, brick laying, tiling, carpentry, etc and then I built the rest. Took me 2 1/2 years. Do you have the time?
Pour foundation, frame it up, roof it, plumb and wire it, drywall, paint, electrical devices in, faucets, counter tops, carpet and call it a day.
Alonzo, we'd love to help...but, it gets kinda involved.
you are kidding right? i'm a general contractor and i can't believe someone would post a question so vauge...so here is a vague answer...excavation/groundwork... pour foundation, framing, roof trusses, roof, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, 1st trim, cabinets/appliances, 2nd trim, walk-thru...not to mention all the inspections you need to get and all the headaches you will run into with every different sub-contractor...Good Luck!
I don't think Y/A allows use to type that much for one answer,

floor coverings
trim
You might want to read a few quality DIY books before you attempt anything. Or you could join a local construction company for the summer and help them out in building houses, that way you would have a job plus learn how building a house is done.
A house can be quite simple though, it really depends on what type of house you want to build (a shanty/shack, an earth home, a log cabin, yurts, a modern house, a mansion, etc.) There are so many different styles of houses, find the type of house you want to live in some day and read up on how they're structurally put together.
Hands-on stuff would be the best way to learn (construction job assistant, schooling, etc.) Books, second.
Is this a question or a book title?
get a blue print
Use wood.
Your question is so vague. Before you can even start, you have to have land that is surveyed, you have to have an architect and engineer draw up prints, depending on where you live you need permits, inspections, etc. If you don't even know where to start, find a builder to do it for you..do NOT make an amateur attempt at this.
