Which has a faster payoff: radiant barrier or more insulation?

Question:one big important thing- I live in North Texas so we're talkin three months of triple digit tempatures! I already have R-30 in my ceiling, but why not put more!

Answers:
You don't want to over insulate because what insulates is the actual dead air pockets too much weight and you've lost the insulating factor. Radiant barrier will definitely improve your heat intake through your roof and should drop the temp up there anywhere from 10-15 deg. also try putting in a house fan to keep airflow constant that would probably be the easiest fix out of the three. Good luck.

Rent a backhoe, dig a really big hole, push house in hole, cover with dirt, dig out door. Problem solved.
put in Radiant Guard last summer and cut my Utlity bill by 35% The problem with too much insulation is you can wind up with an interior moisture problem. f the house cannot breathe mold will happen. Good luck
