Can I make my own wood pellets for Grill?

Question:

Answers:
There are also pellet fired BBQ grills. I would answer the question with yes you could but they wouldnt work like you want them to. The pellets used for home heating and BBQs have very little moisture content. I dont think you have the baking machines to draw out enough moisture, or the pressing machine to make the pellet.

not cost effectively.
Could if you wanted, but it would be a lot easier to just buy the things. good luck
go to any industrial area, ( warehouses ) they throw away pallets all the time. Get it free.
I don't think you want to use pellets to cook on, they are chemically treated to bind them together. I can't tell you what process/chemicals because I believe it is proprietary.
Doesn't it say on the bag "not for food preparation", it should.
Any type of treated lumber could cause respiratory issues when burnt. A friends son and his uncle were poisoned this way! Know your products well. Good Luck!
why pellets...any small pieces of hardwood will do fine in a grill. know any woodworkers in your area. i throw away all kinds of small hardwood pieces in my woodshop
Your question is a little confusing. Wood pellets are manufactured to be used in 'PELLET STOVES to heat homes.
Grills are to be used outdoors for cooking.
Pellets contain crushed or pulverized wood held together with resins. I defiantly would not cook with a resin based product.
You could however, burn very small hardwood logs in a grill and
cook over them. Why not just use charcoal?
