How hard is it to break a kitchen knife?
Question:I'm filming a movie and would like to break a knife so that it looks like it's sticking out of someone's leg. Would I be a fool for trying to break a knife for this, or would it be relatively safe? I have no special tools for such a thing.
Oh, and if you had any better suggestions for a cheap way of simulating a knife sticking out of someone's leg (short of sticking a knife into their leg) feel free to offer them.

there are several materials that knives are made of. I would use wire cutters ($10). and cut an aluminum knife
if thats for a film. you can simply use toy knife made from plastic coated with stainless paint.

for a film you need not to put real props. it should look like a knife even if its not
