Has anyone seen a bluebird nesting, in nestboxes yet, this year?
Question:Bluebirds were almost extinct, due to the imported species of English Sparrow and European Starlings.
Bluebirds need our committed support, to help them make a comeback!
Please join the North American Bluebird society, build a nestbox, and do your part to insure the survival of the beautiful little bluebird.

Bluebirds are one of the first birds to return from winter migration grounds.
Bluebirds are family oriented, and this years juveniles will sometimes help to feed and care for the second or third broods! which would be their brothers and sisters.
They're amazing little creatures, I kindly ask that you would help to do them a favor!

We did;
had a house and God brought the couple (mountain bluebird, the most beautiful of all) to us and they built a nest, had eggs, but they were destroyed by accident :(

I am building a home in an area with two pair of Bluebirds. One is in a nest box, I don't know about the other. They are the first I've seen in my life though. I am building a nesting box to put on my 1.7 acre lot for, hopefully, another pair.
I have bluebirds year around here in north central Ohio.
The big survival test here was that they like to nest in wooden fence posts and many of the post were being replaced when the multiple strained fence is being replaced with single strand electric fence with steel posts.
The English sparrows are for sure a very jealous bread of bird. I put them to there end when ever I get a chance. I have had them kill a nest full of baby bluebirds before. The way I dealt with the Sparrow's was that they didn't seem to care about the box if I put it back in the field away from the house and out buildings.
I never really had a problem with the starlings trying to take over there nesting box. I try to take care of them nasty birds when I get a chance too.
What is nice is every once in awhile I'll get a family of bluebirds and tree swallows and get to watch them raise there families. That makes everything worth while.
