If you need to ask ! do not even attempt it yourself
If you intend to put anything on it more than a 6 stone child you wil have to dig out and lay crush and run(Sometimes called hardcore) before you lay any flags. depending on the load a few inches will do. (For a car) if this is done correctly it will last for years without sinking. Nothing looks worse than expensive drives sinking.. now you Its heavy work though. I got some help to do mine!!
You need to strip off all the existing asphalt, driveway etc. Lay at least 200mm (8 inches) of compacted hardcore. Compact it with a vibrating plate or vibrating roller. Make sure its smooth. Construct a retaining wall to make sure blocks around the edge can't move outwards. Spread 25mm (1 inch) of sharp sand over the area. Smooth it off. Lay blocks over area. Run vibrating plate over them to bed them into sand.
Get a block manufactures cataloge in there they explain all the detailing
make sure finished block hieght is 150 mm from damp of house
the most important thing is the edges,if the edge blockor kerb moves then the middle blocks will creep out.
so all edges most be concreted in (not using sandcement)
blocks should fall away from house1:600
50mm of course sharp sand is needed to bed blocks
lay first 30mm of sand and compact
the next 20mm is the laying bedusing timder rails to draw sand across bed
