Should I demolish these concrete footings and start over?

Question:I poured six 10" square, 4" deep, concrete footings upon an existing slab. These footings will support a 10'x12' shed. I didn't use a bonding agent but I did put a piece of rebar in vertically, drilled and epoxy'd into the existing slab.

When I removed the molds and kicked the new footings, I found they did not bond to the existing slab and will rotate under pressure.

Would you destroy them and start over, or go ahead and use them? I will be really bummed to do all that work over again and want to build on them! But if its a really bad idea I will start over. argh.

Answers:
ok here is what you can do...get some Red Head bolts 8" long and drill with a masonary bit 1/2" down thru your new slabs and into the old..pound the Redheads in and tighten them down...you'll be fine

Sorry, sounds like you did a lot of work. If your footings are not stable then you may have to redo them.

Consider the amount of weight they will experience. Will the footings you made be adequate? Are they stable?

If not the best way to make a footing is to cut the existing concrete, dig down, install steel and pour your footing.
Your footing will NOT hold much weight if they are crumbling or moving under the pressure of just kicking it.Just drill down 4" to 8" and drop Red head bolts in and pound them in.Tighten them down and you will be fine.
Redo them now and save yourself a lot of money and anguish later.
Actually it sounds like you might have Earthquake proofed your shed. If the weight and the rebar will hold up the shed you should have nothing to worry about.
you are not gaining anything pouring the footings on top of the old slab. i would have laid one course of block around to distribute the weight evenly along the slab. i would be worried about my corners breaking off the slab if the weight is too great...
