How far from the eastment can you build your shed 5' or 11' or 25'?

Question:I like to build a shed 16'x12' now the wall of the neibours is only 7' of my garage the county told my I can build my shed11' from that wall , so it don,t make since to me .

Answers:
The required easement (not "eastment," by the way) is dependent on local laws and codes. Check with the building inspector in your area to find out what the requirements are for your town/city.

Its a local building code . Your garage may have been built before the distance changed .

You can apply for a permit to build and ask the setback distance be waived.

Take a drawing of your property in to the local building permits office. The clerk there can help you work out where you could put a shed.
