I am wondering if there are any sewing products made specifically to weigh down a skirt?
Question:I have a dress made out of a very light, sheer fabric and, after wearing it outside on a windy day and narrowly escaping a waredrobe malfunction, I am wondering if they make anything that would add some weight to the hem of this dress so that it wouldn't get blown around so easily. Please help!

I bet some snap shot sinkers will do the trick...they are very light weight sinkers that you squeeze on a fishing line. I'm very serious..These would work perfect.
However it's always nice to be behind that woman in a skirt on a windy day! I'm such a sucker for legs WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
They make curtain weights, which go into the hems of drapes to make them stay vertical, but they'd make a skirt hang funny. Better bet is to wear a light, short slip under your skirt if you're worried.
Actually there is small weights you can sew into the hem of a dress that is just for that problem. Go to your local fabric store and ask.
Do you hate slips? Because a tighter fitting slip may help...hey it's better than people seeing you underoos...or lack there of, but slips are sort of unpopular with a lot of folks..as far as weighing it down...the sheer material it's made from may react funky to sewing.(runs and fraying and the like) so unless you want to take it to a seamstress i wouldn't mess with it...that stuff can be trouble!
