How to refinish a piano?
Question:I just inherited an large upright piano. I love it, except somebody long ago painted it an aweful avacodo green. What's the "proper" way to refinish this beautiful old piano without harming it?
Also, some of the keys are chipped. Can these be replaced?
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

To refinish the cabinet purchase a good quality paint stripper and some steel wool and a plastic scraper. You will also need an economical 2 inch paint brush to apply the stripper with. [ the stripper that I find most effective is COOP brand if you can find it]. Follow the directions on the can and be sure to have the area well ventilated. It makes quite a mess so be sur to place plenty of newspapers and have a roll of paper towels handy. If you need any help along the way feel free to ask and I can walk you through the process. Good luck
Im not into the painting stuff ,but i know for sure you can replace the keys . You should contact the music store or a specialist who tunes the pianos ,he might replace them ,tune the piano and advice you about the painting job
get some paint thinner and remove the old paint, then varnish it. As for the damaged keys, you can call your nearest music store and they might can help you with that part of it.
