How do i get rid of moss in my yard?

Question:do i rake it up

Answers:
If it is on the lawn that is because the soil is too acid. First rake away whatever you can and then sprinkle lime over it. That will cut the acidity and make the conditions better for grass and worse for moss.

Don't use Clorox for moss on the grass - it will kill the grass. Clorox is fine for moss on the steps and walls though.

you are supposed to spread lime on your lawn. This will get rid of your problem. You can get it at any garden center.
I dont know how extensive your problem is. In my case, moss grows on my cobblestone yard in small quantities. I just spray them away with clorox
There are commercial preparation of Zinc Chloride which are used to remove moss and mold from roofs. This will kill it quickly.

Then follow with plenty of pulverized or granular lime. The pH of your soil is likely below 7 (acidic). The Lime will raise this level. A garden store should be able to sell you a soil pH test kit so you can assess how much Lime you will need. Don't be surprised if it takes quite a few bags over a couple months to bring this level up, without cooking your grass.
rake good and then spread lime...
Apply lime
Apply lime and then remove the remians. In order to prevent it from coming back, you need more sun light so you may need to cut back some limbs to let the sun shine on the area.
