How to build a driveway?

Question:

Answers:
First off mark if out and if there are any curves practise driving up and down, that is drive up reverse down, then the other way.
Have others watch you to see if you run off or get a bit close in places.
Decide on what you are going to use, stone chip, asphalt concrete or pavers. Then get prices.
Once you get that decided the next step is the same and that is to level off the ground for a base.

Stone chip can be dumped straight from the truck and shoveled or wheel barrowed into place, and left loose or compacted.

Asphalt is normally only done by professionals.

Concrete need a wooden edging (boxing) to screed it off, and steel mesh reinforcing. Use the heavier 1/4" gauge as you don't know if you will ever have a heavy truck in it.

Pavers also need a boxed edge as concrete to line up the slabs, and compacted sand for them to sit on.
Good Luck, I did a concrete on some years ago.

You don't build a driveway. You have it poured or layed.
Or you put down gravel.
we are getting gravel put down to widen our driveway.
Maybe this will help
