Need advice on fitting/using outside tap?

Question:i need to fit an outside tap in my back yard. trouble is is that there isn't much space to fit it to the cold water feed as we have both the washer and the dishwasher plumbed into the cold. there is a hot water connector from our old washing machine but i'm wondering if it would be ok to use hot water through the hosepipe. it wouldn't be on for long cos it would only be used for a few minutes at a time to hose down dog piss!! thanks

Answers:
A self cutting tap does not cost £15, try a plumbers merchant as they will be cheaper for that product, (Plumb center, Plumbase, PTS, Grahams).

It would be ok to use the hot water pipe to run an outside tap depending on how good the pressure is of your hot water. It may be more beneficial to use the cold tap as it uses the incoming main which has a far greater pressure. You only need the space of a Tee to be cut into your existing pipe to add your tap. Alternatively move your wash mac tap by cutting it and extending it with a piece of copper pipe (allowing room for your new tap) the wash machine and dishwasher pipes are flexible anyway and they will move.

you should not have a prob using hot , but it will come out as hot as it is at the time .could cause probs there ..
you should be able to spur off any of the cold water feeds (washer , dishwasher or supply.?)
get akit from b&q they cost around £15 and connect to the colld water pipe by means of a self cutting connection.
they only take about 10 mins to do and it is cheaper tha getting a plumber or using hot water
replace one of your valves, whether it be your washing machine, or dishwasher with a compression tee fitting, use one end for your valve and the centre for your outside tap.
good luck
