I have installed 2 new windows and have found that the wood lap siding will have to be removed?

Question:Underneath the siding is, I believe fiberboard, can I wrap that with TYVEK and then put the vinyl siding on?

Answers:
Yes you can, that is the preferred method of construction as tyvek is used for air infiltration (blocking) and a moisture barrier.

So!!! remove it.
The ans to your question is yes.

I don't understand why the "wood siding" is being replaced. Is it because you put in the new windows? Or do you just want to change "vinyl siding?
