How can you remove the compressor from a refrigerator?

Question:I know it maybe very simple...as in find the screws/bolts...and unscrew the screws/bolts. But, I would like to know any dangers that might be inherent and what might make my task easier. Thanks.

Answers:
The mechanical part is very obvious. It is, however, a violation of EPA laws to vent refrigeration gases to the atmosphere. You need training, tools and a license to perform this job.

You should have a pro do the work.

Only licensed refrigeration people have the gear to recover the coolant and prevent it escaping to the atmosphere.
I use a sawzall and cut the lines and mounts.
You are dealing with high pressures. You need someone with refrigerant handlers certification to help.
