Ceramic or porcalen (sp?) tile, new paint (venetian plaster is pretty great in bathrooms...time consuming but really cool), new fixtures (lights, towel racks, faucets), new sink and toilet if needed maybe even a new vanity and door and door knobs. The first best thing to do would be the floor and paint and go from there, unless you're looking for a complete makeover.

The low price solution: New towels, paint, wallpaper border, new soap dish, shower curtain or if you have a glass shower door you can get a vinyl pattern transparency that adheres to the glass.
The high price solution: all of the above plus, tear out the medicine cabinet, mirror and vanity, and put in a new stylish vanity with matching mirror, new sink and faucets. Remove any tile and update with synthetic marble slabs, (see examples at www.rebath.com). If your bath/shower uses a curtain replace with a glass door/glass enclosure.
