I think that you are going to have to say something to him.
Say it gently, and make it sound more like an appeal.
Often these people don't realise the grief that they are causing.
I know that that sounds mad, but it is true.
Start doing the same and see how he likes it.
I'll stop. Okay okay. You should have just said something but i want my chainsaw back!
Have a polite word with him or join him at his own game.
Play really loud classical music.
what's your favourite album?
put on stereo, turn up full blast & sing at the top of your lungs.
he might get the message.
I had the same problem with my neighbour, so one Sunday morning I turned my speakers to the wall and blasted him and his kids with heavy rock from 06.00 to 12 midnight. He stopped. Mind you, if he'd knocked on the door I'd have beat the crap out of him! Good luck.
I would recommend long walks...
Also talk with him , see if he is fixing something in particular and can give you and estimate about how lon it is going to take.
If is just doing repair for fun ask him if could avoid latte at night and early mornings... mostly weekends...
Good luck... An Be polite...
when it goes quiet start playing music loud, have a bunch of kids in and let them run riot in and out of the house. failing that complain to the council they will deal with the noise
Mail him an anonymous letter asking him to stop. if he is doing it after 10pm you can call the police for noise disturbance.
not much you can do really unless its late in the evening try and speak to him about it and let him know how it affects you if he has any compassion he will tone it down thankfully he will not be doing it forever good luck
Yes some people have no consideration for others ,,, you will be Driven to say something in the end because it gets to you , Use a bit of Bulls...t Say Hi , do you want a hand ,,,, Or when will you be Finished Because i suffer from Migraines ,,, If he continues Get the rock and roll records playing and go out for the day ....,
There should be a local ordinance prohibiting noise in the neighborhood after a certain time. Check with your local codes enforcement officer. But you could have my neighbor's who never do anything and we are just waiting for their house to fall down. But, I suppose it is fun watching their asphalt shingles slide off their roof.
You should go over and thank him for caring enough to fix up his place. Him making improvements on his house will increase the property value of your own house.
YES, your RIGHT, your neighbor DOES need help! He has to live next to someone who has no life and doesn't do anything!! You seem to stay home all day, and night, even on his days off and his weekends!! The only problem he may be causing is working past a decent evening hour, other wise its his right to do whats he's doing!! At least he IS DOING something with his life besides complaining.. And if it improves his home good for him!! Get a life and do something yourself,, you might like it, you might learn something, you might enjoy it,, you might become his friend... sitting here complaining on this forum just shows what a useless piece of do nothing YOU are!!
Compare what you have to a family of four, who can't talk to each other without yelling profanity as loud as they can. Their home improvement skills were limited to giving me unwanted advise whenever I had a project going. Their own home was getting pretty run down.
I don't feel guilty that I was very pleased when they lost the house.
The new owners are fixing up the place.
The busy noise they make is sweet music to my ears.
I've learned to value neighbors who keep their property up.
OK, now let's see.
When you sleep, try earplugs so that you won't hear anything.!
Now, when during the day, you should try going out more than usual to get away from the noise!
He has every right to do home improvements in normal daytime hours. Let's say between 8-5. If you are annoyed by his work during these hours, you need to just shutup and go ride a bike or something. Just because you just sit there doing nothing doesn't mean he has to.
yeah its too bad it wasnt some lazy slob who did nothing all day and let his house go to pot, thus bringing down the value of your house...
