Does anyone know a website that has different types of screws and explains how they work?

Note that the first answer (which did not claim to be exhaustive) missed a few common screw head drives: Robertson (or "square head) .. which is far superior to slot or Phillips; Torx, "snake eye" spanner (or pin) head, and not included here "one-way slotted" a form of tamper proof screw (A complete overview of these is provided at the second link)

As an aside, Robertson screws are an example of one area of difference between the US and Canada (where I live). They are only known to real handymen and knowledgable professionals in the US, but are the most common screw head type in Canada (at least for wood, flooring, deck and similar screws where the user gets to choose). Do a Google search to find out why they are so much better.
