What is the best product or homemade remedy to cleaning tile floors?
Question:I need to deep clean my tile floors and was hoping anyone had any suggestions on something that isn't too harsh but will clean it very well.
Answers:
vinegar is cheap and a strong cleaner...try a Yahoo search "cleaning with vinegar" that should give you some ideas.
believe it or not i use on my floor a mixture of windex and floor cleaner. nothing too harsh.. windex helps with the shine. i would try it on tile floors.
lemon bleach and hot water
Spray with all purpose cleaner, dust with baking soda or a comet like powder. Wipe and scrub hard to clean spots. Rinse and apply shine to floor.
Baking soda paste. Baking soda + some water. I use this on my baking stone to help absorb food oder and to scour away food particles. It's cheap and effective.
I live 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water.
Tile, for the most part, should be sealed. There is no "deep cleaning" them. If the surface is very dirty, that's a different story. I've always had luck on my tile using white vinegar in warm water, but I would not suggest this for marble or granite tiles. Too much depends on what the tile is made of.
I use 1 tablespoon ammonia & 2 tablespoons borax in 1 gal of water to mop my tile floors and they are very clean & shiny.
I'm another vinigar and water fan. Cheap and very effective! I use 3 parts hot water and 1 part vinigar. Also, the old fashion string mops seem to work a lot better!
Hot water and vinegar! Been doing this for years. Its not at all abrasive, disinfects, deoderizes and won't yellow light colored tile as bleach tends to do. I must admit, the smell of vinegar is not at all appealing, but it soon fades and you have yourself a floor "so clean you can eat off it!"
vinegar--- and water- i work at a tile store and am from a tile family its the only way to go
