How can i remove the tough orange layer in the toilet?
Question:im trying to help my neighbor clean his toilet and tried using a clorox scrub cleaner with foam but, so far it hasnt done much. should i fill it with pure bleach and allow it to soak?
Answers:
Try Lysol bowl cleaner, it's a thick blue liquid. What you do is get rid of all the water in the bowl. The way I do it is I get a big bucket, fill it up with water and pour it into the bowl. You might have to keep doing it until the bowl flushes itself. But don't add water, it should be as empty as it can. Then you spread the Lysol into the bowl and let it sit for a bit, then using a toilet bowl scrubber, scrub good and hard and then flush.
Yes sometime soaking it in bleach works best just dont be in the room. leave it there over night it should help.
They sell some type of real hard chemicals on Sam's club you should try that. or put Clorox's and it might work.
The bleach may help. I would suggest using Easy Off BAM. Put some on the stained area, let it sit for a minute, and then scrub it with the green side of a sponge.
The roughness of the 3M green side of a sponge usually removes it easily with BAM. I had really hard water and would have to do it like every 6 months.
Don't let the BAM sit too long or it will remove the paint. I used to work for the company that makes it. It will totally do the job.
Works on super stained tubs too.
Go to your local hardware store and buy a pack of drywall sanding SCREENS.
Use them like sandpaper to sand off the stains.
They will remove anything and leave the porcelain untouched.
Don't even consider using anything but a pumice stone. Your toilet will look like brand new when you're done. Don't forget those heavy duty yellow gloves. Pumice stones make short work of a funky job.
Trust me on this one. I won't steer you wrong.
I would go buy a pumis stone
Try some CLR or something similar
Sounds like you have iron rich water. I have the same here. Here is what I do. Buy a product called Iron Out. throw a bucket of water in the bowl to flush the water out and sprinkle the bowl with iron out. Wait for about 15-20 minutes and then scrub with a toilet brush and rinse. If work on the sink, washing machine etc.
If you go to your favorite store and in the cleaning aisle there are toilet bowl cleanders pick one that has hydrocloric acid in it. follow directions. One product name is the Works toilet bowl cleaner. You cna get it at wal-mart, target, k-mart for under two bucks. REMEMBER it is hydrocloric acid. use all precautions.
Sounds like your neighbor has irony water. We had that problem. The only thing that would REALLY work was a product called THE WORKS toilet bowl cleaner. It is very inexpensive, and is sold at most discount/dollar stores. Just be very careful and work in a well-ventilated area--I know bathrooms are not well-ventilated, but turn on the vent fan, open the window whatever. Also make sure you are wearing gloves. This cleaner is made from hyrochloric acid so is very strong, but very effective!! It also comes in a spray cleaner--make sure you get the toilet bowl cleaner, which is more concentrated.
If it is orange is might be rust. Look for a product called Whink. Comes in a 10 oz bottle so may take more than one. I get it at grocery store or Wal-Mart. I use it because of rust in well water. May have to use it a couple times if it's really bad. Just squirt and let it sit.
yes u have a chance to clean with toilet cleaners
otherwise use the toilet cleaner
apply & leave one night
and next day clean .this will give u much more better then prevoius....
