How do I put a ladder on a sloped driveway?

Question:Hello,
I have a driveway that comes down and wraps around the house. I'll estimate it at slightly under 45 degrees. I need to get up a ladder to install a bathroom vent on the second floor from that side. How do I place a ladder on my sloped driveway without it tipping over? Sounds like a math problem, but its not! Thanks for any useful advice.

Answers:
attach a 2x4 to the short leg, adjust it, then hold it in place with a "C" clamp. If it is an aluminum ladder, you might have to "rip" the 2x4 to fit inside the "I-beam" construction of the ladder. (Drill a small hole in the ladder, insert a bolt, nut with washer, and cut a slot in the 2x4 and you can make it a permanent fixture of your ladder.)

Mainman had the correct answer, but it in imperitive that you get an assistant to hold the ladder.
