I haven't been able to find detailed instructions for building a masonry chimney w/chimney block & flue tile.

Question:I have already built the foundation.

Answers:
Sorry I am late with this information, but I hunted all night for it. I don't know if it is still available, but it certainly is worth the try!

It' a publication that was put out by the Georgia forestry Commission in 1987.

Here's how to get the publication if it is still available:

WOOD HEATING, Safety,Savings and Comfort

Governor's office of Energy Resources.
270 Washington St.,NW
Suite 615
Atlanta, GA. 30334
(404) 656 5176

The publication was prepared by;
Southface Energy Institute, Inc.
158 Moreland Avenue, SE / P.O. Box 5506
Atlanta, GA. 30307
(404) 525-7657

The tel. no's. are probably changed, but you might get lucky. This is exactly what you are looking for, believe me!

Please, please, please.! Hire a mason. These people know what they are doing. This is very important!. Do Not attempt this by yourself. Let a mason do this job.
Ditto. There's thousands of years of science behind a chimney. You'd hate to do all that work and have the house fill up with smoke because it doesn't draft right.
Check into having a class "A" vent-liner installed. This is just as safe and effective and will save you big bucks.
