Koi pond liner has air bubbles.?

Question:I'm about to rebuild my pond to make it bigger. My current pond has a max depth of only 18 inches and I'm going to rebuild it to 4 feet. My current pond has a few pretty big air pockets that just formed a few weeks ago. My question is what can I do to prevent this from happening to my next pond? Thanks!

Answers:
The air bubbles must be coming from beneath the pond. No way could the bubbles form under a liner filled with water with air from above.

If you puncture one of the air bubbles, you will probably get a face full of water. Ground water will gather and force the liner up.
Same thing happened to mine and TC has the answer.
