How can I find a cordless drill with a chuck that will hold? Most do not hold well.?

Question:The old chuck wrench method worked well but all the new drill chucks are hand tightened and do not hold well. Bits and drills fall out or won't turn when you try to drill a hole.

Answers:
Grasp the chuck while its turning (be careful) and the increased torque will brab the bit tighter. I often do this when, say, a masonry bit gets stuck in the work and starts spinning in the chuck (or same problem while drilling metal.) I just reach down and grab the chuck until the bit stops spinning in it.

Another trick is to put the chuck end of the bit against a grinding wheel to flatten it a bit -that way, it binds up against the jaws in the chuch.

Turn the gearbox to the "1" speed and crank the collet down until it clicks a few times. This will hold your bits. If this doesn't work, you may want to look into a drill that's priced above $150. Like a nice dewalt or makita.
