Water main incomer 22mm plastic, brass fitting end to end fitting i want to put an elbow fitting on what type?
Question:what type of fitting do i need ,the existing fitting looks like a compression fitting but i havent seen compression fittings out of brass joining plastic before
Answers:
It might be that it is 20mm tube, if it is blue plastic then that is what you have. Or turn the water off, take the fitting you have to the merchants and they will size it for you.
22 mm brass same fittings as the end connectors
I work in the water works industry
brass compresion cplgs , are very common, you can buy brass compresion cplgs in a 90 or you can get a male x comp. and use thrd brass or sitch to copper sweat ... hope this helps
If this is PVC you can use PVC fittings. If it is polyethylene or PET, you need compression fittings. PVC can be glued, but other plastic pipe can't. polyethylene can be welded, but that takes special equipment.

it sounds like you have 20mm mdpe (blue plastic pipe) and you need a 90 degree elbow?
at the plumbers merchants, tell them this and they will sell you a kuterlite fitting (compression fitting) but you will also need a 'liner', this is a short copper sleeve that fits inside the pipe (you put your nut and olive (a copper ring) onto the pipe first then push the sleeve into the plastic pipe, and then tighten the whole lot onto the brass fitting).
if you have enough pipe, so you can cut the socket off, you can take this to the merchants and they may sell you a pushfit type fitting and liner (with this you push the liner into the pipe first and then push the fitting on - no tightening req'd)
hope this helps
shark bite lowes they are compatible with pex/copper pvc/copper quick and easy
