Proper wiring for an apartment building?
Question:1 red wire 1 blue wire 2 white wires
we need to install a light fixture
what is the rigth way to wire this light
Answers:
The red and blue are hot wires and the whites are neutrals
You need to find out if it is 2 circuits or if it is a load out . If you have more then one light on that switch then it is a load out . then you would want to splice the red and blue together
and the whites together
that's not wired properly, consult a proffesional
you need to find out witch wire has voltage in it and witch wire is a neutral and also if there is a ground. possible if it is in metal conduit the conduit is used as ground. You will need a voltage tester for this. if u have no tester and don't want to buy one check with local hardware store for a electrician that can help u. if you find wire that has 110 volts that goes to black wire of light, ground to ground and white wire of light to neutral wire.
